The Beginning
I was an English teacher at a very prestigious private school in a medium sized town in China. I taught young children ages 3 to 8, and I had a great relationship with my students, as well as the parents. Due to financial strains during the early stages of the pandemic, many parents wanted to pull their students from the school, with nearly all parents deciding not to come back. Here's where the camera stuff comes in.
Did I say forehead instead of teeth?😅
I had a lot of experience filming and taking pictures with my phone, inspired by all the places I was seeing in Asia during vacation times. I edited my photos and videos and would post them all the time on Chinese social media. I knew a little something on the creative side of 'marketing' myself and my travels.
When our boss held a meeting for what we should do, I said "Let's create videos."
Long story short, I got my hands on a camera, some other equipment, started creating videos. The students and the parents loved them. My boss was happy and I got to learn camera stuff!
I could not put the camera down!
I eventually bought my own camera, and I began creating content EVERY TIME I had the chance to step outside!
I have made travel content for hotels, hostels, real estate agencies, and also content for individuals that I have met during my travels, such as portraits and family events.
I returned to the U.S. at the beginning of 2022 to see my mother who has went through many surgeries and battles with illnesses. I was in China for 7 years. The prodigal son has returned home. If I had unlimited resources, I would take my mother to all of the biblical historic places in all countries as possible. She longs to see so many places.
Skill building aside, the absolute best way to live and work is radiating kindness and showing patience to all people. A beautiful verse that has been etched in my heart is "There is none good but One, and that is God." ❤️✝️
